'Lions For Lambs' - Can We Say Political Agenda? »

'Lions for Lambs' is a perfect example of how the entertainment business is using movies to push their political agenda on the audiences of the world. The screen writer (whose name escapes me) obviously has some personal views of the war on terror and is trying to push those ideas on to the people watching.

"Can We Say Political Agenda coming from the Arthur of this article?">>>
I'd say unless a person has seen the movie to form a valid opinion, & not borrow it from someone else, no. "We" can't say it's a political agenda with honesty.

Hehe...This reminds me of how the FIX News viewersheep were all clucking excitedly amongst themselves last year after a substitute teacher came up with the admittedly less than brilliant idea to show scenes from the movie Brokeback Mountain to a classroom of junior high school kids. What a scream it was to see and hear homophobic neocon radio and television hosts across America squirming and feining outrage (over a movie they clearly hadn't seen and couldn't know has no sexually explicit scenes) as they defended one moronic parent's decision to sue (on behalf of his "traumatized" 12 y/o daughter) the school system to the tune of half a million dollars. Well, dammit thar's ho-mo-SEXshules in the film. It MUST be bad. LOL

FLOP AT THE BOX OFFICE...... so far looks like people have seen enough flim clips and enough commentary from Redford to NOT want to pay their hard earned money to see this movie.

Hey Red
What's a flim? Did you mean film, as in film clip? I think so. If so, I fully agree with you on that comment

dexlex, or should I say dyslex?
You and the "arthur" ought to get together. "Than" you would be very happy reading each other's drivel.
No wonder you support Bush and his stupid war. You are relatives, probably. You share the mutation contained in the bad grammar gene.
I wish I could sink this idiotic post ten times.
Oh well, I will make a point of seeing the film.

Great question. This "review" could have easily been written without seeing the flick.
And with just a couple keystrokes, anyone could find out that the screenwriter was Matthew Michael Carnahan.
Yet another totally un-super review from supermoviereviews.com.
Don't vote for this crap. You deserve better.

FTA:
"Listen up Hollywood none of us go to the movies to watch something that drips with sarcasm and can start up a heated debate in under 60 seconds. We go to the movies to forget about the horrors and frustration of the world around us."
I personally like movies that make you think. And delve into real world problems and situations. In fact i think that's been one of the largest problems with hollywood as of late. They do not make enough movies that do use current event. Heck, a large majority of the best films of all time had current events as a theme, or major world problems as a topic.

"I tire of the constant American and Christian bashing in Hollywood - those do not make anyone think."
True, true....and they're not too fond of Jews, either. It's amazing that, although they've finally done away with the stereotypes of African and Native Americans, they still persist with negative images of others (except Muslim terrorists, of course. According to Hollywood, those don't really exist).

Please, with all the Askhanaz themed movies, that argument rings hollow. And how would you know if they stopped with the sterotypes of Native peoples and Negroes? Are you Black or a Native? No, then shut the hell up. I have Negro friends in the business and they're still asked to play pimps, dope dealers, car jackers and gang members

How is one movie any different than the other, a movie is a sales pitch and the product is the successful sail of the point of the movie. If Americans can only feel good about themselves and their country when they are bombing and killing other humans I find no pity in my hart for them, If it troubles you to sit in a theater and watch how your own government wrongly attacks other countries and commits terrorists acts on people around the world your human, if you do nothing to stop it your no better that the German people during the late 30s and early 40s.

So, since this is so biased, how is it different than movies, especially during WWII that encouraged Americans to support the war effort, join up or even to spy on their neighbors? Those movies were biased, distorted the truth and even lied, how is that different? I think the difference is that Hollywood isn't in support of this war and that just pi$$es some people off so bad they can't stand it.
By the way, the review is junk.

"except the liberal Democrats in power decided that Stalin and the Red Communists were nice enough to be left alone - and enslave Eastern Europe... no better than Hitler."
Actually, the leftists back then urged appeasement of Hitler - until he abrogated his non-aggression pact with "Uncle Joe" Stalin. How little times have changed for them.
